Following their triumphant victory at the 71st Sanremo Music Festival with the gold-certified hit “Zitti e Buoni,” Måneskin unleashed their highly anticipated second studio album, “Teatro d’Ira – Vol. I,” on March 19, 2021. Two years after their double-platinum debut, “Il ballo della vita,” this electrifying Italian quartet unveils the first installment of a larger project, chronicling their creative evolution in near real-time. This ambitious and dynamic journey began with the platinum-selling single “Vent’anni” and the breakout anthem “Zitti e Buoni,” their Sanremo-winning track that rapidly amassed 18 million streams. Entirely self-written and recorded live at the Mulino Recording Studio in Acquapendente, Italy—where they also presented a mini-live album unveiling—the album evokes the raw analog feel of 1970s bootlegs, capturing the band’s intense live energy from their extensive 70-date European tour. The result is a powerful, unfiltered, contemporary recording showcasing Måneskin’s signature sound. This dynamic energy will soon electrify Italian audiences during an 11-date tour presented by Vivo Concerti. Tickets for the initial four shows at Rome’s Palazzo dello Sport (December 14th and 15th) and Milan’s Mediolanum Forum (December 18th and 19th) sold out instantly, prompting a third Milan date on March 22, 2022. Further concert announcements include performances on March 20th at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno, March 26th at the PalaPartenope in Naples, March 31st at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, April 3rd at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, April 8th at the PalaFlorio in Bari, and culminating with a spectacular show at the iconic Verona Arena on April 23, 2022. This event marks Måneskin’s powerful opening of the Arena’s major concert season for 2022.
“Teatro d’Ira – Vol. I”—the title’s theatrical setting ironically contrasts with its fiery anger. This isn’t rage directed at a specific target, but rather creative energy rebelling against stifling conventions. It’s a cathartic process that, through art, sparks renewal and positive transformation. “Our anger isn’t directed at anyone,” explain the band members, “but is a motivating force, a revolutionary energy—a cathartic rage against oppression and oppressors. It’s a release, a rebellion against everything that makes you feel wrong, resulting in rebirth and change. We deliberately placed this potent force within the context of the theater, typically associated with elegance and tranquility. We relish this antithesis: a contrast that explodes when the curtain rises, revealing not a play or ballet, but a surge of untamed energy. The theater symbolizes art, the place where this powerful impulse generates something artistic and positive.”
In “Teatro d’Ira – Vol. I,” Måneskin finds a new sonic language to express their message. At the heart of their values lies freedom from unnecessary constraints and filters, combined with a yearning for authenticity. This resonates deeply with Generation Z, as evidenced by their debut single, “Vent’anni,” but extends to a much broader audience: an invitation to shed pre-conceived labels and embrace one’s true self without fear of judgment. Damiano, Victoria, Thomas, and Ethan, having begun their musical journey busking on the streets of Rome, captivated audiences with their extraordinary energy, transcending genre stereotypes, blending influences into a unique and original style. Their success has garnered over 16 platinum and 6 gold records. Following their Sanremo win, Måneskin will represent Italy at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, carrying their message of liberation and their determination to make their mark.
