The Voice of Italy: Second Blind Audition Airs March 29th

Aspiring vocalists from across Italy will vie for the attention of renowned coaches Al Bano, J-Ax, Francesco Renga, and Cristina Scabbia during the second round of blind auditions on March 29th. This captivating episode is one of four showcasing the blind audition process, ultimately shaping four teams of twelve contestants each. The competition culminates in the crowning of Italy’s 2018 vocal champion, securing them an exclusive recording contract with Universal Music Italy. Currently, the teams include: Team Al Bano: Tekemaya (Francesco Bovino), a 41-year-old drag queen and singer from Lecce; Aurelio Fierro Jr., a 41-year-old singer from Naples; and Maryam Tancredi, an 18-year-old student from Naples. Team J-Ax: Antonio Licari, an 18-year-old student from Marsala; Kimberly Madriaga, an 18-year-old student from Catania; Beatrice Pezzini, a 20-year-old conservatory student from Verona; and Andrea Tramacere, a 19-year-old student and part-time catechist from Rovigo. Team Francesco Renga: Mirko Carnevali, a 33-year-old musician and athlete from Milan; Marica Fortugno, a 20-year-old student from Reggio Calabria; and Asia Sagripanti, a 19-year-old student from Pordenone. Team Cristina Scabbia: Ylenia Aquilone, a 23-year-old counter clerk from Catania; Andrea Butturini, a 23-year-old student from Brescia; and Alessio Parisi, a 19-year-old student from Naples. Notably, the Italian edition of The Voice pioneered the “Block Coach” feature in Europe. In the premiere, Francesco Renga was the first coach to experience the impact of this innovative twist, thwarted by J-Ax. Providing insightful commentary from the studios of Rai Radio2, the official radio partner of The Voice of Italy, are Gino Castaldo and Ema Stokholma, joined by the listening group “Back2Back”.
