Annalisa’s Electrifying Roman Return: A Concert Review & Setlist

Amidst a vibrant backdrop of Euro 2020 posters, foosball tables, and impromptu three-a-side football pitches, Annalisa launched her “NUDA10 Open Air” summer tour in Rome. Under the spectacular Roman sunset, the audience experienced a long-awaited release from months of confinement and digital entertainment. The multi-talented artist delivered a captivating performance, a testament to her versatile abilities. Riding the wave of recent triumphs, including the summer hit “Movimento Lento” (featuring Federico Rossi) – boasting over 4 million views – Annalisa, a bel canto virtuoso and emerging leader of the “byte” generation, effortlessly captivated Piazza del Popolo. She skillfully showcased lesser-known tracks from her post-Sanremo album, boldly reinterpreting them: from an acoustic rendition of last summer’s “Avocado Toast” (which, while successful, wasn’t quite a chart-topper), to an English-language version of “Vento sulla luna” (without Rkomi’s feature), to the moving “Tutto per una ragione,” enhanced by Daniel Bestonzo’s synth, creating a powerful moment as the stage lights threatened to dim. The timeless “Alice e il blu” followed. While her lockdown “House Party” period inspired a relatable narrative about a slightly chaotic creative process, the dance/reggaeton influences in her “Nuda10” album – encompassing tracks from “Nuda” to “Principessa” and “Eva+Eva” – transformed the cobblestones into a dance floor. This infectious energy momentarily eclipsed social distancing anxieties, as Annalisa danced exuberantly, despite the ever-growing supply of water bottles accumulating backstage. Rome, a city synonymous with passion and often uncomfortably warm temperatures, once again embraced the joy of live music. This concert marks the artist’s return to performing live, with upcoming shows in Vigevano (July 23rd), Zevio (July 24th), Monopoli (July 27th), and Azzano Decimo (July 30th) before resuming club appearances. The evening concluded with fans eagerly waiting for a masked selfie with their idol.
